About the Speakers

Dr. Bryan Koivisto joined the Department of Chemistry and Biology at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2011. As a chemist, Dr. Koivisto’s research investigates the design of new organic and polymeric materials for optoelectronic applications. After receiving promotion to Associate Professor in 2014, Dr. Koivisto continued to embrace mentorship and innovation in scientific discovery, and has developed a number of programs designed to promote interdisciplinary evidence-based experiential learning, including being the founding Director of the Science Discovery Zone (2016–2019). He is currently the Graduate Program Director for the Environmental Applied Science and Management Program. He also really loves whisky.

Della Stevens-Brain is a jack-of-all-trades mixologist with 10 years’ experience in the service industry. She thrives on creativity and collaboration, and adores all things nerdy–especially Star Wars! Find them sipping their favourite, an amaretto sour, at any place where the sun hits her face.
