Look out for our shelled, scaly, slimy and feathered neighbours as biologist Ethan Owen guides us on a leisurely walk through Evergreen Brickworks to share his expertise on reptiles, amphibians and birds, and what it’s like to be a turtle researcher.
About the Speaker
Ethan Owen is a master’s student in biology at York University, researching a unique population of eastern musk turtles in Central Texas. His work focuses on megacephaly—an intriguing phenomenon of rapid head growth—and explores the ecological factors driving this unusual trait. Beyond his research, Ethan is passionate about the outdoors and can often be found birdwatching or searching for exciting new reptiles and amphibians.
