Several space agencies have launched orbital missions over several decades, and the volume of data and imagery they have acquired is staggering. The unprecedented level of detail available has allowed scientists and engineers alike to explore surfaces well beyond Earth. Join Dr. Bhairavi Shankar as she highlights the findings and explores how and why we investigate planetary surfaces.
Bhairavi is a planetary scientist and geologist. She works with satellite data to understand geological processes on solid planetary bodies. Her research interests focus on the development and applications of data analysis techniques through geospatial awareness. The founder of BeSpatial Consulting, she is involved in the development of teaching materials to engage students and educators with space science, alongside promoting the role of women in STEM.
