Following a sold-out show last year, #ScienceIsADrag returns to the Gladstone Hotel this March for another free event where scientists challenge the cis/heteronormative stereotypes of science with entertaining drag performances and interactive science presentations! Come along for dinner, drinks & drag - stay for the science!! 🍻
The legendary Champagna Drag, BENT Beauty Supreme 2019 👑, returns as our host & headliner.
Many of our performers are seasoned science communicators but will be in drag for the first time! To cheer them on (and because it's fun!), we encourage all attendees to dress up for the occasion - there may just be a prize for the most spirited audience member!
Drag show etiquette is to bring along tips for our incredible headliner, performers & bar staff.
Event Logistics
Doors open at 6pm. Early arrival is encouraged to secure the best seats. Empty seats will be filled on a first come, first served basis from the standby line, starting at 6.50pm.
Show starts at 7pm.

Accessibility
This is a 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly event, and we are committed to doing everything we can to make sure everyone is comfortable and respected throughout the event.
The Melody Bar in the historic Gladstone Hotel is accessible via a concrete ramp that takes you to the 36 inch front entrance. There is no automatic door opener, but there is a small doorbell that guests can ring to be let inside by the concierge. The accessible washroom is located on the main floor and has the following highlights – 35 inch wide door, two grab bars, 29 inch high sink, an automatic soap dispenser, and a collapsible change table. There is no automatic door opener. Google Slides will be used to auto-caption the event live, and please do not hesitate to let us know if there are any other accommodations we can arrange to make the event enjoyable and comfortable for you!
