Athmaja is a PhD candidate in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary biology at University of Toronto. As an evolutionary geneticist, she is working to understand how Earth has such amazing biodiversity by investigating how new species are formed. She studies hybrids formed by two different species of tiny, transparent, very cool worms (aka nematodes). Before studying worms, Athmaja worked with plants, plant viruses, cancer cells and butterflies 🦋
