Chill out with Hayley McKay for our next Instagram takeover as she delves into the hazy science of cannabis research in Canada. 

A recent graduate from the University of Toronto, Hayley conducted her MSc research on the genetic pathways underlying male and female flower development in Cannabis sativa. She looked at gene expression patterns through RNA sequencing and characterized the development of flowers through a powerful electron microscope 🔬 Now, she is part of the business development team at Mitacs, developing and funding initiatives between academic researchers and industry partners.

Hayley loves to tell stories about science while incorporating artistic, historical and cultural perspectives, and can often be found dancing, skiing, or hiking on the Bruce Trail in her free time.💃⛷️🥾
