About the Speakers
Rebecca Yardley is a chemist and science communicator. Her Ph.D. is from the University of Western Ontario, where she developed self-immolative polymers, which are a new class of degradable polymers. She also has a Masters of Science Communication from Laurentian University.
Celia Du is a science communication specialist and is currently the Programs Manager at RCIScience. With a background in Chemistry from McGill University and a Master’s in Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh, she has worked with the Canadian Space Agency, the Gairdner Foundation, the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Science Everywhere, and Science Rendezvous, and has been interviewed by Discovery UK, Global News, The Canadian Press, CFRA Radio and CTV News.
